Civilian Firearms Training

Firearms Training Classes

International Police Supply offers a variety of firearms training classes to law abiding US Citizens.

A note concerning ALL civilian classes: All participants will be required to provide proof of their status as a law-abiding US Citizen prior to acceptance into any course. All students must be at least 21 years old, or be a minimum of 15 years old and accompanied by a parent enrolled in the course. International Police Supply reserves the right to refuse instruction to anyone at our discretion.

For security reasons and for our student’s privacy, exact course location will only be provided to course attendees.

Class sizes are limited in order to provide the best possible and safest instruction for our students. If you see a class that you are interested in, even if the date is not yet set, sign up and get on the waiting list as classes are filled first-come-first-served.

All Classes are taught by NRA Certified firearms instructors and meet the Virginia state requirements for the training required to obtain a Concealed Pistol Permit.

All graduates will receive a training certificate suitable for framing.

HK Machineguns Familiarization Class

Featuring the following HK Machineguns:
MP5, UMP45, HK33, HK G36K, and MP7A1

This introductory class to HK machineguns covers the following topics :

  • Current Federal and State Laws concerning CL 3 Firearms Ownership
  • Basic orientation to the HK Machineguns and HK family of weapons
  • Loading, unloading, sighting, field stripping and cleaning
  • Range Operations & Firearms Safety
  • Shooting Fundamentals, including proper machinegun shooting positions

All students will fire 100 rounds through each machinegun in full automatic under the supervision of NRA certified firearms instructors. The class fee includes all course materials, ammunition, range fees, and the use of firearms provided by International Police Supply. Additional ammunition will be available for purchase at an additional cost. This training course fulfills the Virginia state requirements for the basic firearms training required for applications to obtain a Virginia Concealed Pistol Permit.

Modern Machinegun Familiarization Class

Featuring the following Machineguns:
UZI, MP5, MP9, SIG 552 and AK47

This introductory class to machineguns covers the following topics:

  • Current Federal and State Laws concerning Machinegun Ownership
  • Basic orientation to the UZI, MP5, MP9, SIG 552 and AK47
  • Loading, unloading, sighting, field stripping and cleaning
  • Range Operations & Firearms Safety
  • Shooting Fundamentals, including proper machinegun shooting positions


All students will fire 100 rounds through each machinegun in full automatic under the supervision of NRA certified firearms instructors. US Military Conflict Machinegun Familiarization Class

Featuring the following Machineguns used on both sides of conflicts the US has been involved in from WW2 to the Present: Enemy – (Nazi) MP40, (SE/SW Asia) AK47, Allies – MP5, US – Thompson & M16

World War II Machineguns Familiarization Class

Featuring the following Machineguns used by the Axis and Allies fighting in World War II:
MP40 (Germany), Sten MK II (Britain), PPSH-41 (Russia) and Thompson SMG (USA)

This introductory class to WW2 machineguns covers the following topics:

  • Current Federal and State Laws concerning CL 3 Firearms Ownership

  • Range Operations & Firearms Safety
  • Shooting Fundamentals, including proper machinegun shooting positions


All students will fire 100 rounds through each machinegun in full automatic under the supervision of NRA certified firearms instructors. HK-MP5 Submachine Gun

  • History of the US Machine Gun Laws
  • How to legally purchase machineguns and other NFA weapons
  • HK machinegun history and development
  • Basic orientation to HK machinegun models, options, features
  • HK machinegun nomenclature, date codes, accessories
  • MP5 loading, unloading, sighting
  • MP5 field stripping, cleaning, function check
  • Range operations and safety
  • MP5 shooting fundamentals including positions

Due to the overwhelming popularity of this class, we are currently working off a waiting list in order to keep class sizes necessarily small. Clicking on the link below will put you on the waiting list. As we assemble classes, we will notify you of the next class date(s) to organize a class that fits your schedule.
Due to other training commitments, we are doing this class on an 'as-needed' basis. Minimum group size of 6 students is required to hold this class. Get 5 of your friends together and contact us for a class date or email us to be placed on our waiting list.
Additionally, all students will fire 300 rounds through the machine gun in full automatic under the supervision of NRA certified firearms instructors. Course price is $600.00 and includes all course materials, ammunition, and range fees. This training course fulfills the Virginia state requirements for the basic firearms training required for applications to obtain a Virginia Concealed Pistol Permit. All graduates will receive a training certificate suitable for framing.

NRA Home Firearms Safety Basic Handgun Familiarization Class

This introductory class to firearms safety and handguns covers the following topics:

  • The complete NRA Basic Home Firearms Safety Course
  • Basic orientation to Handguns - Revolvers and Semi-automatics
  • Loading, unloading, sighting, field stripping and cleaning
  • Range Operations & Range Safety
  • Shooting Fundamentals, including proper handgun shooting positions

All students will fire several magazines through each of 6 different pistols, representing different manufacturers, different calibers, and different operating principles. This will give the novice shooter a basic introduction to many different types of pistols and will help the shooter decide which type, size and caliber of pistol best suits his/her need. The class fee includes all course materials, ammunition, range fees, and the use of firearms provided by International Police Supply. Additional ammunition will be available for purchase at an additional cost. This course incorporates an NRA approved class during the first 1/2 of the day, and students will receive an NRA certificate upon successful completion of the course. The second half of the day involves range operations, shooting, field stripping and cleaning instruction. The certificate from this course can be used to meet the training requirements mandated upon application for a VA Concealed Handgun permit.

Two Day Classes

US M9/M11 and M4/M16 Pre-Deployment Training & Qualification

This is a RESTRICTED class.

Location : Northern Virginia

Training will be conducted per FM 3022.9 (M4) and FM 3-23.35 (M9 and M11) and will include basic instruction on each of the weapons systems. Subjects covered per weapon include: Safety, Clearing Procedures, Assembly/Disassembly, Load & Make Safe, Cleaning/Lubrication, Malfunctions, Basic Marksmanship, Immediate Action Drills, Combat Marksmanship, Range Operations, Combat Reloading Techniques. Training will involve instructional lectures, practical exercises, and live fire training.

The training will be in accordance with US Army standards and will be scored IAW DA Form 5790-R (for M4) and IAW DA Form 5740-R (M9 & M11). A copy of each Student’s scorecard per weapon will be returned to you at the conclusion of the course.

This is a two-day course intended to provide basic training for contractors who may not have had any prior firearms training.

US M9/M11 and M4/M16 Pre-Deployment Qualification

This is a one-day course intended for operators who already have a basic familiarization with handgun and rifle shooting. (One day each - handgun or rifle)
