WWII .37 mm flare gun with a brass frame and steel barrel. The grips are marked “Interntional Flare Signal Co. Tippecanoe City, Ohio.”  Serial No. 14319 and marked “Mar. 43” with a lanyard needs a good bore cleaning. The original finish is on the barrel with scattered areas of rust and light brass corrosion (green) on right hand grip. A WWII flare gun which mostly saw marine usage. These pieces were on both Naval and Commercial vessels, lifeboats etc. , Hammer cocks, and releases when trigger is pulled
